Bart is a finance, credit, and fund management expert with in-depth operational experience.

Bart co-founded Total Impact Capital Europe in 2021. As the CFO of the Medical Credit Fund, he was responsible for fundraising and setting up the risk and finance function for a complex guarantee and loan book. USD 60M were closed for both standard and groundbreaking fintech loans, covering 6 countries. Bart also developed and implemented a credit system and rating methodology for the corporate loan book of Dutch investment bank NIBC, as part of the implementation of the Basel regulation, per the Advanced Internal Rating Based Approach. Bart Schaap started his career at Standard and Poor’s in London (now S&P Global Ratings), assigning ratings to large infrastructure companies and Public-Private Partnership projects.
